Autonomous packaging system for injection-molded parts in a fully automated production hall
Description The bagging system is part of an autonomous production in a production clean room. Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) simultaneously deliver both large and small small load carriers (SLCs) with injection molded parts directly to the system. Communication with the manager using OPC methods enables efficient control by requesting AMRs or providing empty small load carriers for collection. A buffer zone consisting of roller conveyors also ensures that production continues without interruption by preventing the material flow from being blocked.
By reading the RFID tags on the KLTs, product-specific data can be retrieved from the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This enables the system to recognize the format size and adjust the necessary elements independently. The product-specific data is required in order to laser mark the bag with the correct data.
The bagging system has an additional module that allows bags to be produced from an endless roll. This allows the bag size to be flexibly adjusted depending on the quantity of injection-molded parts. After the bag production and labeling, the bags are filled. Before the bag is sealed, the excess air in the headspace of the bag is evacuated. The finished bags are transported to the logistics area via conveyor belts and an airlock.
The innovative, double-layered and separable FFS film SepaFlex® is used for the bags. This special film offers optimum protection for sensitive foodstuffs, specialty chemical products and pharmaceutical precursors. SepaFlex® is easy to handle and fully recyclable: the peelable sealing seams allow the outer film to be easily removed without tools such as knives, preventing the contaminated outer film from entering the clean highcare area. With a material made from 100% PE, SepaFlex® also contributes to the circular economy. (Bischof+Klein)
Siemens Unified Panels were integrated into the system for the first time. These modern panels ensure user-friendly and comprehensive monitoring of the machine data and offer numerous new visualization options, making it much easier to control and adapt the processes.
